Obituary of JOHN SANDRY

SANDRY - John Sandry, late of Big River, SK. passed away in the Big River Health Center on Monday, April 28, 2008 at the age of 94 years. John was born on October 31, 1914 in Dubuc, SK. to Jozsef and Erzsebet Szendrei. John was raised near Kindersley and then came to the Leask and Blaine Lake area in the 1940's and worked as a Master Journeyman. Later the same decade he moved to Big River and began farming. He worked many years for the L.I. D. , which took him away from home for several months each year. He met Christine in 1957 and soon after began their family. In the 70's he began working at the Big River Nursery but realized he wanted to farm instead and did so until 2003. His last years were spent at the Big River Health Care Center, where he was well cared for. He loved his family but his greatest joy came two years ago when his great grand daughter, Kamrynne was born and later the same year his great grand son, Zane. John leaves to mourn his passing; a step-son, Robert Roy of Buffalo Narrows, SK., his sons; Allan (Lori) Sandry of Moose Jaw, SK., Luke Sandry of Big River, SK., a daughter; Shirley (Harry Beebe) Sandry of Big River, SK., two grand daughters; Ashley (Ryan Piche) Beebe of Big River, SK., Michelle Sandry of Buffalo Narrows, SK. and two great grandchildren; Zane Szendrei-Beebe Piche and Kamrynne Zana Sandry as well as numerous other relatives and friends. John was predeceased by; his parents; Jozsef and Erzsebet (nee: Sebok) Szendrei, his wife, Christine (nee:Roy), , a son, Leo Harry Sandry, a step-son, Philibert Roy. At John's request there will be no funeral service. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in memory of John may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society or the choice of the donor.
