Obituary of Marlene Elizabeth Mighton
Marlene Mighton
1949 – 2019
Marlene Elizabeth Mighton passed away peacefully on July 29, 2019, at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert. Marlene was born on October 19, 1949, in Saskatoon. Marlene was born and raised in Saskatoon. She lived in Saskatoon throughout the earlier part of her life. She had many stories of her days as a 'carhop' and her 'gang' of now lifelong friends who made many fond memories of rural adventures around Saskatoon.
Marlene left Saskatoon when she married a man from the army. It was a time of moving around Western Canada and living on army bases. This wasn't a very long time for Marlene as she divorced and came back to Saskatoon and then worked with some of her family at the Western Development Museum and also to babysit. Marlene was diagnosed with SLE (Lupus) 35 years ago. She was then unable to continue working. Marlene moved out to Blaine Lake in 2003 where she lived for 17 years.
Her heart belonged to her daughter and only grandson. Marlene is survived by her daughter Yvonne (Darryl); her grandson Andrew (Rebecca) and two great-granddaughters, Avery and Jaida; her sister Elda, her niece Amelia (Kyle), Marilyn (Darwin), her nephew Brayden; her sister Sheila, and nieces, Tanya and Cassandra and nephew, Harley; her sister Lucille (Wade), niece Melissa, Cherryl, great-niece Whitney (Matthew) and Chelsea (Trevor), niece Denise, great-nephews Tyler (Sarah) and Billy (Kirsten), niece Kim (Paul), great-nephew Kyle and great-niece Marissa, nephew Elton (Krystal), great-nephews Devin and Cameron; and cousins. She is also survived by many true long-life friends she spoke about often. Marlene was predeceased by her dad, Cecil Mighton (1984), her mom Doris Mighton (nee: Sansom 1999) and her brother Alvin Mighton (2017).
