Obituary of Douglas Oscar Rohdin

The family of Doug Rohdin are deeply saddened to announce Doug's passing on September 13, 2008 at the age of 59 years. Doug was a unique individual. He started working in the mine and enjoyed driving truck for JB's Waterhauling. His greatest love was dealing with antique farm equipment until the tax man shut him down. Doug enjoyed feeding the wildlife around his home and he enjoyed the company of seniors and non-mainstream people. He appreciated all of the staff of the University Hospital. He was a talker as well and could keep those around him entertained. The song "I've Done It My Way" sums up Doug's life. He lived his life the way he wanted and certainly did it his way. Doug will be sadly missed by all. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 17th, 2008 at 10 a.m. from the Spiritwood Cemetery with Rev. Don Unger officiating. The eulogy was read by Cornie Martens and a duet was sung by Marlene and Cornie Martens, Amazing Grace. Special music was the song I Did It My Way. Honorary pall bearers were all relatives and friends who shared in Doug's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. Doug was laid to rest in the Spiritwood Cemetery.
