To the Halliday Family
Please accept my deepest sympathy of the loss of Lillian and Albert. The Halliday home was always a very warm welcome to visitors.
The Bugle has sounded the last notes of “The Last Post”.
Albert Frank Halliday volunteered for active service of the 2nd world war. His active duty, like that of many others resulted in the democracy and freedom that we enjoy today.
Albert Frank Halliday - Lest we Forget
After discharge, Albert joined the Correctional Service of Canada at Saskatchewan Penitentiary. He became a correctional officer, soon to be known as “Doc Halliday”. I had the honor of working with “Doc Halliday”.
Albert led by example in dress, deportment and performance of duties. He had the ability to change the work place from gloom to joy with a few words. He spoke of his family with pride. Albert always remained loyal to his G.M. and more so to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Again the bugle has been sounded – Reveille
A new journey remembering the past and a new place of eternal care.
No cold walk along the path, no dog or motor patrol, or incidents in the Institution. Now again to be reunited with Lillian and family.
Rest in peace my fellow comrad, correctional officer and friend.
Rest in Peace.
We shall all meet again.
