Obituary of Rhonda Lila Warner

Rhonda Lila Warner, late of Prince Albert, SK, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. Rhonda was born April 4th, 1982 at the Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. Soon after birth, it became obvious she had several heart defects. She was flown to Edmonton where she had a temporary surgery until she was big enough to do a reconstruction of her heart. When she was six years old, she went to Toronto Sick Children’s Hospital and had extensive surgery. Rhonda spent much of her childhood in hospitals. In 2001, Rhonda graduated from Canwood Public School. She then went to SIAST to become a CCA and worked at several nursing homes over the next few years. Rhonda had a loving caring spirit that developed from spending much of her time on the receiving end of caregiving. Her compassion mixed with her humor made her a favorite of residents at the Herb Bassett Nursing Home and Pineview Nursing Home. Rhonda married her sweetheart, Shandon Warner on July 3rd, 2010 at Candle Lake. They lived at Melfort, Martensville and Borden briefly before settling in Prince Albert six years ago. Rhonda loved spending the summers at Candle Lake with Shandon. Rhonda's love for Jesus was very evident in her life. She loved to talk about her Lord and was not afraid to share her love of Jesus with others. This last year Rhonda was going to Polytech to become an LPN. Despite her health problems she had ambition and goals, never feeling sorry for herself. At the end of January, Rhonda became ill and was diagnosed with liver cancer caused by the way the blood flowed through her organs due to the reconstruction of her heart. She had a four-week fight with cancer and passed away Feb. 26th at the age of 37. During her last days she was so kind and sweet to everyone around her and of course had her brothers in stitches laughing at her jokes. Rhonda is lovingly survived by her husband Shandon; parents Sigurd and Lila Olson, parents-in-law Ron and Val Warner; brothers, Leslie (Kristi) Olson and their family Tyler, Joshua, Jacob; Gary Olson and his family Hanna, Noah, Meredith; brother-in-law Doug Warner (Jamie Wardle) and family Jake and Jordan. Rhonda was predeceased by an infant sister; her grandparents Oscar and Frances Larsen, Gordon and Bertha Olson; and an uncle Kenneth Olson. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Embassy Church, 888 Central Avenue, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Meghan Mayer officiating.
