I never did meet Stephen but we were friends on Facebook. 2 years ago I got one of his Springer pups which he named Jessie which I was told was the name of his very first Springer Spaniel. It was good to show Stephen how Jessie was doing with the pics and videos of the grouse and pheasant hunting we were up to... A fine dog Jessie sure is. Would have been a great pleasure to have hunted beside Stephen with our Springer Spaniels. My condolences...

I am so sorry for your loss Nancy, Shaun, Joe, Andrew and Gwen. Papa as I called him when I knew him had a absolute heart of gold, and the biggest hands one had ever seen. I remember one evening he just came back from the field and we all sat down out
Side on the deck and he took his wedding ring off and could put a loonie thru it, then we took a picture of our hands with his to show just how big they were. This man drove me to work every morning and we listened to the old music channel as he would tell me all about his childhood. His wife nancy and his children and grandchildren were his life and every memory I have of him we were all laughing and smiling. He welcomed me and my son into his family without hesitation and I will forever miss his genuine smile. My condolences to his family.

Thank you for writing this wonderful tribute to Steve and the The Bonyai family. My memories of Steve go along way back to when he was a teenager in Lestock and then we all called him Stevie.
He was a kind , thoughtful teenager with a strong love of the great outdoors even then.
The switchboard , which his mom ran, was just off the living room and was very impressive to watch her or Stevie operate.
I had lost track of Steve and where life had taken him. I was happy to read that his life was full of love and family. I am sorry for your loss and send you strength for the days ahead.
God Bless.

Sincere sympathy to you Nancy and family. Steve was a genuine man that actually cared about others and was willing to share his thoughts. He passed on his love of hunting to all of his kids and he took great pride in all they did. He will be missed by many people. Rest easy Big Steve. Hugs to all. Kari Zemlak and family.
