Obituary of Francis Lair

The family of Francis Lair is deeply saddened to announce Francis' passing on December 3, 2008 at the age of 83 years. He was born in Lampman, SK and moved to Timberland with his parents during the depression. Francis went to school in Timberland and then to Leoville. As a teenager he worked in the logging industry along with electrical work. Francis married Bella Porier in September 1945. In 1954 he began his career as a grain buyer. He worked in different locations throughout his career. When Francis retired, he moved with Bella to Chitek Lake and his final years were spent at Evergreen Health Centre. Francis loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and especially berry picking. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Francis will be lovingly remembered by: His children: Leslie Lair of Ponoka, AB; Arnold (Lynne) Lair of High River, AB and Garry Lair of Shellbrook, SK. His grandchildren: Aaron (Sharon) Lair and their son Aiden; Shannon (Brad) Lair; Paul Lair; Dennis (Stacy) Lair and their son Easton and Leisa (Jamie) Miller. His daughter in-law Lynda Lair of Saskatoon, SK and His sister in-law Therese Lair of Abbotsford, BC. He was predeceased by: His parents Paul and Tilly Lair, his brothers Art and Emil Lair and his sister Lorraine (Armand) Lajeunesse. Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. from the St. Therese R. C. Church in Leoville, SK with Rev. Fr. Paul deGuzman celebrating. Soloist was Bill Martodam. Aaron Lair gave the Eulogy and the cross bearer was Paul Lair. Honorary Pallbearers were "All relatives and friends who shared in Francis' life". The Urn Bearer was Garry Lair. Memorial Donations in memory of Francis may be made to the Evergreen Health Centre, Box 160, Leoville, SK S0J 1N0. Francis was laid to rest in the Whispering Pines Cemetery in Chitek Lake.
