Obituary of Billy Ronald Snyder

Billy Ronald Snyder 1974-2020 It is with enormous sadness that we announce the passing of Billy Ronald Snyder. Billy was born on January 14, 1974, in Ponoka Alberta and passed away on June 7, 2020, in Big River Saskatchewan. Billy leaves to mourn his father William Snyder; his mother Sherree Snyder (Larry Sherger); brothers Cody (Gina) and their children Kaiden, Jackson, Rylan; Rambo (Kaitlen); his sister Cheyanne (Jaime) and their children Bella and River; his grandparents Ron & Audrey Lueers; his aunts and uncles and cousins Darrell & Judy Lueers and their children Kirk, Larissa and Janine; Ken & Deb Lueers and their children Danielle and Brett; Dave &Marilyn Barnes and their children Damar, Dart, and Dryden; Paul & Sherry Thomas and their children Cammie, Christie and Chad; Lauren & Kathy Snyder and their children Corrina and Jarred. Billy is predeceased by his grandparents Frank & Yvette Snyder. Billy was especially good to his baby sister Cheyanne and her children Bella and River. He spoiled them terribly. He also had a very special connection with his cousin Brett Lueers. Billy was always one of a kind, unique, funny, generous, and definitely had a mischievous side. He was extremely generous to so many people. He truly loved his job as an oilfield consultant and excelled at it. Billy loved his home in Big River and all the wonderful people that he regarded as his second family. Living at the lake enabled Billy to boat, fish, and ski-doo, all of which he loved to do. Billy was an amazing cook; he was very creative and could cook anything. He loved to enjoy the fruits of his labors. He knew every restaurant and fast food place to eat in Alberta and Saskatchewan, but only the best ones. Billy would always tell the most amazing life stories; sometimes so funny you could do nothing but shake your head. Almost everyone knows if he called you it was going to be a long call, sometimes hours. Friends were important to Billy, whether is was his work friends or his friends in Big River he liked to stay connected and helping people was important to him. Billy also loved hot rods- we are amazed he didn’t own one, but he did have several die-cast cars displayed proudly in his man cave. When Billy was about 4 years old, he went to Bible camp with his buddy. Bible camp was something very new to Billy, and after going for a few days Billy came home and told us that Jesus had died on the railroad tracks because he had been run over by the train. There was nothing we could do or say but we did get a good chuckle out of it. When Billy was again about 4 years old, he was with his dad and grandpa Ron unloading the boat at Crimson Lake and was given strict instructions to stand to the side and out of the way. Billy being the curious little boy he was he got in the way and his dad and Grandpa Ron had accidentally run over Billy. Fortunately, the ground was like quicksand, and Billy was not hurt. His only concern was that his new jeans were now dirty, and he let his dad and grandpa know how mad he was. He always loved his grandma’s cooking; he ate homemade buns and cinnamon buns like no one else. Every summer Billy’s grandparents Ron and Audrey took him to Kalamalka Lake. One year in particular when Billy was 5 or 6, at the end of their trip he went around the campsite and shook hands with everyone to say goodbye, Billy was a charmer from a very young age. Many people called him Junior, sometimes Bill, but his family called him Billy. His family wishes to thank his friends, his co-workers, and his amazing second family in Big River. Thank you to everyone for the phone calls, posts, amazing food, flowers, words cannot explain how wonderful you all are. Please accept our apology if we have forgotten anyone.
