To Don and family we want to extend our most heartfelt condolences. We share in the loss of Verna! I especially will miss my friend and the many lunches we had together as well as suppers spent with the four of us. Verna and I would shop, talk and eat and shop and talk some more. She loved her shoes and a great pair of boots! Always on the stylish side!! I will miss her bright smile and shining eyes. She was a great part of our lives. Allie has very fond memories of her and their fondness for cows and all animals. She uses her cow mug to this day! We will truly miss her!

My photo album is full of pictures with my Aunty Verna. I was the oldest grandchild on my father Earl's side of the family and was doted on by her.
I have so many warm memories of our coversations laughing and crying together. I loved listening to her stories and viewing pictures of her travels with Uncle and her children and watching videos of grandchildren, of course.
She was so proud of her children and grandchildren . I will forever cherish our visits.
I feel comfort in knowing she is in heaven with my father.
My condolences to my Uncle and cousins. May you find peace in your memories.

I have so many memories of Auntie Verna that I don't know where to start. She was always willing to help and lend a hand. On one of their trips to Halifax, she packaged a light fixture in her luggage from the old farmhouse and brought here! I don't know if I showed enough appreciation but I truly appreciated that. And then times she would give me perogie advice via text when I was clearly in over my head and not planning in advance. It meant so much, when being so far away from everyone. And even when she was having the fight of her life, she would check in and think of others. She was so youthful and always had a smile. I will miss her. My condolences to Uncle Donald and family. I know it has been a very difficult time and you have lost a pivotal member of your family. I hope that you can find solace in the fact that she is not in pain anymore, is at peace, and reunited with her brother and father whom she missed so dearly. You are in our thoughts.

My deepest sympathies to Don, the kids and grandkids. Verna played such a huge part in my family’s memories from coast to coast and in between. I’m so grateful for all our adventures. I’m so glad we got to see her on her whirlwind trip through Hamilton to see the Roughriders! She had no problem buying kids from Hamilton those green Riders hats! They still hold a place of honour in our home! I will cherish the world class memories and I don’t think I’ll ever watch her Riders without thinking of my friend Verna.

So incredibly saddened to hear about Vernas passing. My heart aches for all of you, she will certainly be missed.
Last October I was blessed to spend a lovely day with Verna, when Don was harvesting to go with her to an appointment at the cancer centre. She insisted I come right into the appointment and meet her doctors, nurses, and introduced me to each staff member, as we went about our time there. Verna was the friend that you always kept in touch with, felt blessed to know, and it always felt like time never passed between our visits! I will truly miss her friendship.

We are so sad and sorry for the loss of a sister-in-law and aunt. Verna was always a very hard worker helping to keep the farm running and raising 4 children. I am sure she will be missed greatly for her constant willingness to always be of assistance to everyone in her social and family circle. These last number of years have been very hard on Verna and the immediate family being in constant pain and just when you think you've got it beat some other issue raises its ugly head. There has been suffering in the family due to these issues through the last few years but the ultimate suffering is now that she is gone from our lives. We will remember her forever as a spiritual caring individual and mother. We are sorry that we cannot attend any services or memorial at this time during the pandemic since we are in the vulnerable age group and are very vigilant about staying away from any large gatherings where closeness is desired for the support of the family.
