Obituary of Peter John Reynders
Peter Reynders passed away peacefully in the Shellbrook Hospital January 10, 2009, with his family by his side. Peter was born in ERP Netherlands on January 30, 1944 to his parents Marinus and Petronella Reynders where he resided along with two of his sisters, until in 1952 moved to Choiceland District, Canada. In 1954 the family moved to Leoville, SK where Peter and his siblings attended school speaking no English, but still was able to communicate with the other children. Peter quit school to join the army in 1961 but missed his parent and siblings Martha, Marianne, Tony, Petro, and his baby sister Josie. In 1967 Peter moved into his own place and worked at Simpson Timber. This is when he met his loving wife Johanna and married her on September 1971. In February 1972 their son Murrey was born and 1973 was a busy year - Peter's step daughter came to live with them and their daughter Penny was born. In 1974 Peter moved his family to Hinton, AB where he worked to provide for his family at the Northwest Pulp & Paper Mill. In 1981 Peter moved his family back to the Leoville area to try his hand at farming. Peter had a stroke in 1996 and after a long hard struggle to recover was unable to farm full time. He still had a passion for farming though, so he went to work for other farmers. Other passions of Peter's were gardening and wood-working but most of all his greatest passion was his family. Peter was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who enjoyed having the family come to visit. In September 2007 Peter started his battle with cancer and is now at rest with his mother Petronella and his brother Tony. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Peter is survived by his wife Johanna Reynders of Spiritwood, SK, his children Murrey Reynders of Lloydminster, SK; Penny Kennedy (Ron) of Lloydminster, SK and Brenda Van-Nes (Ron Roset) of Saskatoon, SK, his grandchildren Peter Reynders; Autumn-Dawn Kennedy (Ricky) and their daughter Emma; Branden Kennedy; Christine (Aaron) Button and their children Sienna and Latral; Sabrina Roset (Brett) and their daughter Paige; Scott Roset (Kayla); Joey Roset, his father Marinus Reynders of Hinton, AB, his mother in-law Mary Van-Nes of Saskatoon, SK, his sisters and brother Martha (Alfred) Letkeman of Hinton, AB; Marianne Gresham of Alsask, SK; Josephine Reynders (Karl) of Hinton, AB; Petro Reynders of Edmonton, AB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The Funeral Service was held Thursday, January 15th, 2009 in the Leoville Community Hall at 2 p.m. with Pastor Leigh Sinclair officiating.
