Obituary of Mary Horvath

HORVATH - It is with our deepest sorrow our family is announcing the passing of our loved one Mary Horvath on April 2, 2009 at the age of 89 years at the Idlywild Lodge in Spiritwood, Sk. Mary was born November 27, 1919 she was the oldest of eight children, born to Mary & George Wolosinovsky in Haydu Dorog Hungary. In 1928 the family came to Saskatchewan, in the Norbury district, where Mary attended school. In 1935 she married Frank Horvath, they lived many years with Frank's folks ,they had three children. Irene (1st Born) passed away at one month old, then Betty (Lendvay) was born and six years later they had Frank (Horvath). Then in the early 40's they bought a quarter north of the homestead, built a house and started their own farm. Mary always had a huge garden, a big lovely yard filled with every flower you could think of all around the house and fruit trees. They sold the farm and moved into town in May, 1974 were Mary continued her favorite, growing nice gardens and lovely flowers. She sewed, crocheted, painted on glass and made picture frames from them. She will be lovingly and sadly missed by her daughter Betty (Frank) and son Frank, all the grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial was held April 6th, 2009 from the Sacred Heart RC Church in Spiritwood, SK,with Rev. Fr. Paul deGuzman as celebrant. The music was directed by Phil Marion. The Pallbearers were: Jeff Lendvay, Dustin Lendvay, Nicole Allen, Allan Lendvay, Brayden Lendvay and Felicia Gajewski. The Honorary Pallbearers were all relatives and friends who shared in Mary's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Idlywild Lodge Auxillary.
