I grew fond of my dear friend Tommy, I popped in to visit him occasionally in his apartment and a couple times on his farm, once when dear Laura was still with us.❤️❤️ But most of all I miss seeing Tommy popping into the coop grocery store looking for me just for a quick visit. He always had a treasure in his pocket to show me...usually a arrow head! He would say to a passing by customer, I’ve known this little girl for a long time, I was lucky and went to her wedding. oh Tommy, Melfort will miss your wisdom and kindness, seeing you walk every day to pick up your mail and have tea with Sandra at the gallery. I love you Tommy, my dear dear friend.❤️

I met Thomas thru our joint interest in model engineering. Every time I met with him was an experience. After purchasing his model makers lathe we talked more often. Thomas had started the construction of a model “The Countess of Dufferin” locomotive back in the early 70’s. With no dimensional drawings he proceeded to construct this from photographs which he found very difficult. As he became older the model found its way into a box in the shop. Thomas persisted that I should take this project on and finish it. After some time I consented to, making Thomas very happy to know this project would continue. This project has continued but unfortunately Thomas was not well enough to view the progress. From now to completion, whenever I will be working on it I will think of Thomas and the memorable times we had.

As the last remaining of six 'Davis' siblings and first cousin to Tommy, I am very saddened by his loss. Both Tom and his wife Laura were close and very kind to me. Together, they attended happy Family (Davis/Sherven) re-unions on the Davis farm, so graciously hosted by Eric and Dorothy Davis. My mother, and Tom's mother as sisters were always especially close, in fact, even looked alike. Tom often mentioned that he wished he had been born a Davis or a Sherven - six in each family - Tom was an only child and must have missed sibling rivalries and joys. Tommy you are much missed and your many achievements have left the world a better place. with love, cousin, Margaret (Davis) Jones.

Always enjoyed his stories. He lived a full life. My father, Laurence Vigrass, also enjoyed visiting Tom as when they were children, they came from neighbouring farms. He will be missed.

My sincere sympathy to Tom’s family. I remember Tom and Laura always being a part of the Vigrass family and in attendance and family gatherings celebrations in my younger days. Tom was always so knowledgeable and sof-spoken, a teacher at heart! I still have my special teacup I received from Tom and Laura when my dad passed away in 1974. The Smith’s teacup sits in my China cabinet and will be used in the near future when I sit down and savour the tea and think fondly of Tom and Laura and their role and contributions In and to the Vigrass family, worlds of engineering, agriculture, archeology, and sociology in Saskatchewan, and human kindness and respect for each other and the earth.
