Obituary of Henry Harold Diehl

MR. HENRY DIEHL 1916 - 2009 It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Henry Harold Diehl on May 16, 2009 at the age of 92 years. Henry was a resident of the Parkland Terrace Nursing Home in Shellbrook, Sk. He was born on October 10, 1916 in the Aldina District. Henry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 72 years, Lea (Verreault) Diehl of Shellbrook, Sk, his sons Albert (Yvonne) Diehl of Shell Lake, Sk, George (Grace) Diehl of Leask, Sk, Ronald (Eleanor) Diehl of Leask, Sk, his brothers Fred (Eva) Diehl of Saskatoon, Sk, Raymond (Leona) Diehl of Saskatoon, Sk, his sisters Lillian (George) Marguis of Saskatoon, Sk, Rose (Clair) Boorse of Edmonton, Alta., his brother-in-law Andrew Marguis of Saskatoon, Sk, his sister-in-laws Florence Diehl of Calgary, Alta, and Margaret Diehl of Prince Albert, Sk, as well as his 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Henry was predeceased by his parents Harry and Jane Diehl, his brothers Lawrence, Rene, and William Diehl, his sister Myrtle Marguis, and his brother-in-law John Rawlyk. The Mass of Christian Burial took place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2009 in the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Marcelin, Sk, interment was in the Marcelin Cemetery and a luncheon followed at the Marcelin Community Hall. Rev. Father Anthony Pangan was the Celebrant, Organist was Maria DeGirolamo, and the St.Joseph's Church Choir led the hymns. Readers were Mavia Stockmanski and Valorie Magnuson, altar server and crossbearer was Aaron Panio, pallbearers were David Diehl, Randy Diehl, Wayne Diehl, Dwight Diehl, Kirk Diehl, and Ian Waterhouse. Memorial Donations may be made to the Parkland Terrace Foundation ( 114 5th Ave West, Shellbrook, Sk SOJ 2EO) or Mass Intentions.
