Obituary of Funeral Notice for the Late Greta Leona Kronquist
KRONQUIST: Greta passed away on July 29, 2009 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 99 years. Greta was born on August 30, 1909 in Burketon, Ontario to Oliver and Edith Beckett. Greta married Arthur Kronquist on December 3, 1930 in Shellbrook, SK and they had five children. Greta was involved in many community organizations such as the Ladies Legion Auxiliary, Leoville Health Care Auxiliary, and the Golden Ring Senior Citizens, she loved to read, go walking, watching hockey and curling at the arena and playing bingo. The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, August 6th, 2009 at 2:00 pm. from the St. Paul's Anglican Church in Timberland, SK with The Rev. Joanne Beacon officiating, the soloist was Bill Martodam. The Honorary Pallbearers were the Legion Auxiliary; the Pallbearers were Don Christopherson, Larry Hoffman, Earl Christopherson, Clifford Christopherson, Donald Flowerday and Brian Findlay. Greta will be lovingly remembered by her children Dagny (Gerald) Watts of Carrot River, SK, Walter (Trudy) Kronquist of Penticton, BC, Joyce Bakaluk of Prince Albert, SK, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sister Jenny Lamb of Bailieboro, ON, her brothers John (Edna) Beckett of Port Perry, ON, Jim Beckett of Burtle, MB, Dawson Beckett of Maple Grove, ON, as well as numerous nieces, nephews in Finland and Canada. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Kronquist in 1986, her son David Kronquist in 1950, her infant son Gordon Kronquist in 1935, her parents Oliver and Edith Beckett, her son in-law George Bakaluk in 1994 and three brothers and four sisters. Greta was laid to rest in the Timberland Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to St, Paul's Anglican Church or The Kidney Foundation of Canada or Choice of the Donor.
