Rose Juravinski

Obituary of Rose Ann Juravinski

Rose Ann Juravinski June 1, 1933 to December 21, 2021

We sadly share that Rose passed away as she peacefully slept, the morning of December 21, 2021 at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. Rose was born in Kalyna, SK.

Rose will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Cindy (Bill) and their children Michelle (Derek), Michael (Kelsey); son Curtis (Brenda) and their children Brandon (Hannah), Shauna (Carter) and Lindsay; her Great-Grandchildren Dylan, Teagyn, Bria, Ashton, Eve, Liam and Kynzleigh.

Rose is also survived by her sister Helen and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Rose is pre-deceased by her loving husband, Emil; her parents, Frank and Mary Horodyski;  siblings Vicky, Lena, and Ed; Brendon Bliss (grandson in-law) and other loving family members.

Rose met her loving husband of 65 years, Emil through a mutual friend. They were married June 18, 1955 at the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church in Prince Albert, Rose was 22 years old and Emil was 25 at the time. Rose and Emil tried farming on their own for a short period of time and decided that it was not for them. Rose became a hair dresser and worked in the profession for over 40 years. Rose was a devoted mom, granny, gran and baba. She was always providing for her family. She would sew dresses; knit sweaters, scarf and mitts; for everyone including the grandchildren’s dogs and the great-grandchildren’s dolls. She doted on her garden and was always concerned that she would not have enough to share with all of her family. She still sent potatoes and carrots from her garden this fall. Gran was always the provider as she made jam, perogies, cabbage rolls and pies for everyone. If you mentioned, just once how much you enjoyed her pies, she would ensure that she made you many apple pies to enjoy. She was constantly worried about providing for all of us which showed her never ending love for all of us.

After the passing of her beloved husband, Gran said that she wanted to live in the house for one more year. She succeeded in her quest to live in her home with help from her family and gracious neighbors (thank you Dennis, Cindy, Kevin, and Dorothy). Over the last year, she tended to her garden and did a few things around the yard to get it the way that she wanted it, even doing a few things that Papa had never wanted done. She travelled to Saskatoon to help celebrate birthdays with family, spent some time at the lake, and helped care for the kids which always brought a smile to her face.

We are grateful for the care that Rose received while she was at the Victoria Hospital. We thank the staff for the care that was provided to Rose during this difficult time.
