Obituary of Steve John Eros

STEVE JOHN EROS: It is with great sadness that the family of Steve Eros announces his sudden passing on September 7, 2009 in Shellbrook, SK. Steve was born on September 24, 1925 in Kishlong Hungary to John and Julia Eros, Steve was the second oldest in a family of eight children. Steve came to Canada with his mother and older sister in December of 1929. Growing up and even into Steve's older years he was always the first one to team up the horses to plow, or haul straw or hay. Into Steve's retirement years, one could always find him in the coffee shop, pool hall, or on main street in his truck just watching the world go by. Steve loved his garden, be it in town or at the farm. Retirement or no retirement Steve enjoyed watching a good game of baseball and a spirited hockey game. In 2007, Steve had to swallow his pride for the sake of his health and move into the Rose Gill Lodge in Rabbit Lake, SK, Steve had a hard time accepting the fact that he needed a bit of help with his health, but he truly made the lodge his home, he loved the meals and would never complain about the other tenants or staff. Steve took up the hobby of puzzles, and Rose Gill is now nearly wallpapered in the oodles of puzzles he has put together. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Julia (John) Takacs and Irene (Frank) Toth, his brothers Frank Eros and Charlie (Jennifer) Eros, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. Steve was predeceased by five infant brothers and sisters, his parents John & Julia Eros, his sister Mary Kerekes, his brother Louis Eros and two brother in-laws John Takacs and Joe Kerekes.
