It is with great sadness that the family of Gail Marylynn Goertz announce her passing on February 7,2022, in Prince Albert.

Gail was born on July 15th, 1951 in Estevan, Saskatchewan to Bartel and Minnie Erick. As the youngest of nine siblings, Gail was the last to leave home. She attended business college in Winnipeg and then began her life with her high school sweetheart Terry. They welcomed their son Donn in the Fall of 1968 and so began their adventures across the province as Terry continued his career with the CO-OP.

Gail brought her meticulous organizational skills and sunny disposition to each and every job she held. Her work ethic was central to her accounting and office management positions in Estevan, Maple Creek, Mankota, Shaunavon, North Battleford and finally Prince Albert, where she and Terry settled in 1981. Gail spent the last 35 years of her career dedicated to managing the dental clinic for Dr. Watt and assisted with the transition of the practice to Dr. Hu, after which she retired. Her warm smile and welcoming nature helped ease trips to the dentist for many families over the years.

Gail and Terry were involved in many social and sporting activities and made wonderful memories attending ball tournaments, curling bonspiels, reunions, and dinner parties. She also loved lunch dates with girl friends at Amy’s and Shananigans and always treasured her time and special friendships she made with the women at the Curves gym.

Gail sought out opportunities to volunteer in the many communities she and Terry lived. She loved to give and socialize and she did it all with a sparkle only she could bring. They enjoyed traveling, spending many summers at Waskesiu and winter getaways in Europe, Hawaii, and California over the years.

Gail loved living in close proximity to her son Donn, his wife Kim and their family. It was the joy of her life to spend time with her grandchildren, Hudson and Harrison, and her grand dog Crosby, who she and Terry walked daily for years. They were faithful fans at everything the boys were involved in from the hockey rink to the skate park and all the gyms in between. She loved to entertain and delighted in making birthdays, anniversaries, and any special occasion the most memorable it could be for everyone with her special touches and caring ways.

Gail will be remembered by her husband, Terry; her son, Donn (Kim), and her grandchildren, Hudson and Harrison. She is survived by her brother, Jerome (Sandra) Erick; sister, Mildred (Bill) Mack; sister-in-law, Barbara Erick; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Bartholemew “Bartel” and Wilhelmina “Minnie” Erick; sisters, Marlene Marcotte and Bonita Erick; brothers, William, James, Donald, and George Erick; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Erick.

Gail touched many lives with her kindness, warmth, and generosity. She will be missed greatly but we are comforted by the fact that she has moved on to be with God and is no longer suffering. Gail made beautiful friendships that will last long beyond her time here with us. We will keep her alive in the memories we hold dear and in the love we share.
