Betty passed away on March 1, 2022, in Edmonton, AB. She was born on November 3, 1952.

Wake Services for Betty will commence on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 3:00 PM. at the Big River First Nation Band Hall and the Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM. on Monday, March 7, 2022. also at Big River First Nation Band Hall, Big River First Nation, SK. Interment will follow in the Whitefish Catholic Cemetery By The River, Big River First Nation, SK.
Betty is lovingly survived by, her husband: Louis McGilvery; her children: Elaine McGilvery, Darcy (Helen) McGilvery, Darrell McGilvery, Lavern (Daniel) McGilvery
Ronald McGilvery, Leon (Audrey) McGilvery, Chrissy McGilvery, John McGilvery; Her siblings: Adam (Jocelyn) Joseph, Hazel Angus, Melinda Joseph, Doreen (Clement) Mitsuing, Hilda Joseph-Gardipy, Emile (Albertine) Joseph, Wanda (Emile) Lachance, Debra Joseph, Ricky Joseph, and Genivieve Joseph; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 
She was predeceased by, her parents: Melasippe and Nancy Joseph; her brother and older sister: Ronald Joseph and Bertha Ballantyne; her son and daughter: Glen McGilvery and Darlene McGilvery; her grandson: Warren McGilvery; her brother-in-law: Johnny Angus; her parents-in-law: Edmund and Agnes McGilvery; nieces: Marlena Crookedneck, Alberta Rose Angus, Tanya Joseph; her nephews: Elton Crookedneck, Justin, Jarred, and Jody Joseph; her grandparents: William & Ellen Joseph; Thomas & Mary Whitefish.

Honorary pallbearers will be Virginia Whitefish, Florence Smallboy, Lola Bear, Betsy Bird, Josephine Bird, Rosyna Moses, Sandra Lachance, Catherine Morin, and all who knew and loved Betty.
The active pallbearers are, Jordan Rabbitskin,  Ronald McGilvery Jr.,  Terrell McGilvery, Brandon McGilvery,  Michael McGilvery, and  Drey McGilvery.
