Obituary of Audrey Stene
Stene- Mrs. Audrey Stene, age 72, beloved wife of Gordon Stene of Shellbrook, passed away in the Shellbrook hospital on Friday, September 18, 2009. Audrey was born October 23, 1936 in Shellbrook, and has lived her whole life in the Shellbrook area. She married Gordon Stene, and helped run the family farm. They raised four children, Randy, Laura, Ronda, and Brad. Mixed farming was her life, with milking cows, raising chickens, helping with haying. She would be the one who would do all the baling when haying season came around. She would always make the perfect bale. Audrey was also interested in her children's sporting events, and following their busy schedule. Audrey leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Gordon Stene; her children, Randy (Irene) Stene, Laura (Glenn) Ernst, Ronda (George) Schnarr, Brad (Tina) Stene; eight great grandchildren, Robert, Jennifer and Shannon Stene, Hailey, Jessica and Rory Schnarr, Travis and Brianna Stene; her four great grandchildren, Cameron and Devon Stene, Linden Stene, Julie McKenzie. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Karen in 1954;her brother, Earl McComas in 1987; her sister, Thelma Wilson in 2004; her infant sister, Mildred in 1920; her parents, James McComas in 1954, Ella McComas in 1986. The funeral service will be held at Graveside, in the Shellbrook Cemetery on Thursday, September 24 at 1:00 pm. The eulogy will be read by Laura Ernst.
