Obituary of Apaulinar Krawchuk

KRAWCHUK: Apaulinar Krawchuk was born on August 8, 1926 in Hafford, Saskatchewan; his parents were Fred Krawchuk and Katherine Zarubiak and his sister Stephania. Apaulinar and Anne Shyluk were married on October 26, 1947; they farmed in the Blaine Lake area for more than 40 years, initially with Apaulinar's father then on their own on the same farm site. Together they raised nine children. Apaulinar enjoyed fishing, Kaiser and Horses. He was a self taught welder, general repair man and basic carpenter. In 1999 Apaulinar and Anne retired from farming and moved into Blaine Lake where they lived together until Apaulinar's last illness in October of 2008, there after he became a resident at Hafford's Special Care Home. Apaulinar was predeceased by his sister Stephania, his mother Katherine, father Fred, and his son Glenn. He leaves behind his wife Anne of 61 years, eight children, twelve grandchildren and two great grand children. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hafford Special Care Nursing Home towards the purchase of a blanket warmer for the residents in Apaulinar Krawchuk's name. The Prayer Service was held on Thursday, October 8th, 2009 at 7:30p.m. from the St. George's Ukranian Catholic Church, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with Fr. Valdimir Mudri as officiant, the Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, October 9th, 2009 at 10:30a.m. from the Hafford Ukranian Catholic Church, Hafford, Saskatchewan with Fr. Michael Fedorov as celebrant, the cantor was Diana Woytiuk, the crossbearer was his granddaughter Stefanie Krawchuk, the eulogy was read by his son Neal Krawchuk, the honorary pallbearers were all Apaulinar's grandchildren, Peter Dutchak & Wally Mazurek, and the pallbearers were his Children. Apaulinar was laid to rest in the Hafford Ukranian Catholic Cemetery.
