Obituary of Dianne Doreen Mikalchuk

It comes with great sadness to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Baba) and dear friend Dianne Mikalchuk. She passed away peaceful at her home on May 7, 2022 at the age of 70.

Dianne was born in Prince Albert on April 5, 1952. She attended school at King George and graduated from PACI.

In August 1972, Dianne married her ‘honey bear’ Paul and would have celebrated 50 years this August. Their first home was in Mt. Nebo and then to the farm at Alingly. From there they moved to their home in Prince Albert.

She was known and loved by her neighbors for her kindness. She made time to help her elderly friends with doctor appointments, getting groceries and an occasional lunch out. Dianne enjoyed sewing, baking and camping. She loved working in the garden and even loved shoveling snow in the winter. In the late summer, picking tasty blueberries with Ruth was one of her favorite activities. A poppyseed cake was her well-known contribution at gatherings and she made the best perogies around. There were many trips to Vancouver to visit family and shopping excursions to the United States.

Dianne was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in October of 1967. Paul and Dianne enjoyed helping to build new Kingdom Halls where they met many new friends. She enjoyed sharing her faith with others and the prospect of living forever on a paradise earth. (Revelation 21:3,4)

Dianne is survived by her husband, Paul; son, Devin (Jenn); grandsons, Trysten and Maddix; sister, Carolyn (Alvin) Gowliuk; brother, Jim (Debbie) Seniuk and sister-in-law Ruth Gutka along with many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Orville in September 1948; her mother, Mary (nee Fediash) Seniuk in July 1983 and her father, John Seniuk in June 2015.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Dale Ardell, the home care nurses and the home care workers for the care given to Dianne.

A Private Family Service will be held.
