Obituary of Francis Gregory La Rose
Francis "Frank" La Rose 1957 - 2022
It is with great sadness that we must say goodbye to Frank, who was a wonderful Husband, Dad, Umpa, Brother and Friend. He passed away after a brief battle with cancer on July 24th, 2022.
Frank spent his early years living on the family farm with his 8 older siblings. He attended Hamona country school until the farm was sold in 1965. He then attended elementary school in Tantallon, enjoying playing the trumpet with the school band, then finished high school in Esterhazy. Frank ventured to PA to help his sister Doris move and decided to make it his permanent home. He met Gail when he was about 19 and she was 16, together they welcomed four children into their lives Greg, Michael, Kaylene and Dustin.
Frank enjoyed his career as a dedicated and hardworking heavy-duty mechanic. He surrounded himself with many friends and family members and was known as someone who they could always rely on to be there whenever they needed help, and often as a safe ride home after the bars closed. Frank's friends and family could count on seeing him in one of his many not so politically correct t-shirts or sporting his favorite Rider Pride attire. One of his past-time favorites was reading, which we are confident he has read absolutely every Louis L'Amor book ever written. He loved cooking and sparking up the BBQ whenever possible. Frank was a proud Metis member of the MNS and volunteered at many functions and fundraisers such as BINGOs whenever needed. Frank will be remembered by his laugh and as always being ready to help others.
Frank will be greatly missed by his wife, Gail; his son Greg (Rhiannon) and their children Melky, Griffey and Jackie; his son Mike; his daughter Kaylene; and his son, Dustin (Ashley), their daughter Isabella and baby on the way. He will be missed by his siblings, Margaret, Verna, Joan (Grant), Doris (Garry), George, Teresa, and Bev; his mother-in-law Edna and Gail's siblings Jim (Sharon), Linda (Dale), Jerry (Donna), Randy (Belinda), Irvin (Toni), Arlene (Joe), Jody and Joyce, his very special friend Billy, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Frank is predeceased by his parents Jeanne and Gregoire, his sister Marie, father-in-law Bill, and in laws Jack, Gerd, Valerie, Andre and recently nephew Sean.
