Obituary of Dodie Ferguson

Ernest Derwyn “Dodie” Ferguson passed away on September 11, 2022, at the age of 78 following a short battle with cancer.

Dodie will be remembered for his ability to tell a joke or story on any and every occasion and could always make people laugh.  He loved God, his family, music, and motorcycles.  His faith was shown by his generous heart, his affection for family and friends and his fervent desire that everyone would come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. 

Dodie was predeceased by his former wife “Sally” Selma Pearl Shingoose.  He is survived by his wife, Celeste (nee Wright); his daughters, Leanna Ferguson and Sheryl (Trent) Henry; his stepchildren, Drs. Alexi and Jason Kuhnow and Dr. Jacob van Vloten; his grandchildren, Erica Vermette, Landon (Amber) Vermette and great-granddaughter, Lauren Vermette, Jadon Ferguson (Ashley Pasap and daughter Alivia), Alenna Ferguson-Roy, Preston Henry and Seth Henry; his sisters, Lois Olsen and Barb Ferguson; his brothers, Sheldon (Geraldine) and Donovan (Hilde); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Memorial Service for Dodie will be Cowboy Church style on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Pentecostal Assembly, 1510 Olive Diefenbaker Drive, Prince Albert.  All are welcome.  Please wear something pink.  For those who ride a motorcycle, weather permitting, please bring your motorbikes to the celebration.   In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dodie may be made to New Hope Community Church, 1840 15 St W, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 3T7.  Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau “Lac” Funeral Home and Crematorium, Tracy-Lynn Lenchuk, Funeral Director, Prince Albert, SK 306-763-3322.
