Obituary of Myrna Valerie Westmacott

The family of Myrna Valerie Westmacott, sadly announce her peaceful passing on September 19, 2022 at St. Paul’s Hospital, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.

Myrna was born on April 6, 1950, in Spiritwood, SK, to Orville and Annie Poor.  She grew up on the family farm with her sister, Carol and her brothers, Larry and Stan.  She attended Resolute Elementary School and Spiritwood High School.  As a young woman Myrna attended Saskatoon Business College.  She moved to Shellbrook in 1969 and worked for the Shellbrook Chronicle for ten years.  She then moved to Prince Albert in 1980, where she had her daughter Jennifer.  Myrna started working at Writeway Printing for ten years beginning in 1980, and this was where she met her husband Terry Westmacott, and they married in 1998.   She then worked for nine years at the PA Shopper.  

Myrna has three granddaughters, Katelyn, Madison, and Taylor, whom she loved to spend time with and watch them grow.  Myrna loved country music and often had the radio playing at all times of the day.  In her last two years of life, she moved into the Weldon Care Home.  It was here that she met and fell in love with her fiancé Doug Boettcher.   

Myrna will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jennifer (Ty) Arp; her granddaughters, Katelyn (Gaeryn) Arp, Madison Arp, and Taylor Arp; her sister, Carol Goller; and her brother, Larry (Clara) Poor.  She was predeceased by her husband, Terry Westmacott in 2002; her father, Orville Poor in 2002; her brother, Stan Poor in 2005; her mother, Annie Poor in 2016; and her fiancé, Douglas Boettcher in 2022.

A Private Service will be held.  The family would like to invite friends to a join them at a Memorial Luncheon at the Prince Albert Heritage Centre 1211 1st Ave West Prince Albert, SK on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 3:30pm.
