Eugene was a true gentleman, and I had the joy of visiting with him from time to time and experiencing his brilliance. Eugene looked at life from a different perspective than many, and was intrigued by life and his surroundings. I found his concern for caring for the Earth refreshing and enlightening. Eugene could always bring knowledge and information to the table that perhaps I hadn’t heard of previously.
I had the good fortune of first meeting Eugene in the early 80s, and we ended up sharing the joy of singing together in various choruses and events. We also had beehives on his land over the years, and his love for the bees was much appreciated. He always inquired about our honey farm, and how things were going. He cared deeply about nature, if I could see it included the health of our bees. I was truly saddened and disappointed to hear of Eugene’s passing, I will miss him deeply.
