Obituary of Jennie Mourot

JENNIE MOUROT

Formerly from Prince Albert, Jennie Mourot (nee Ferchuk) born May 29, 1930, passed away January 18, 2023, at Birchview Nursing Home where she had lived for the past five years. She was the last surviving member of George and Sophie Ferchuk’s family.

Jennie dedicated her life to raising her family.  She was a loving, supporting wife to her CNR husband Frank, following him to many postings throughout Central Saskatchewan where she enjoyed becoming an active member of the community. Upon Frank’s retirement, they dedicated their summers to spending time with their grandchildren at The Narrows, PANP.  Winter months saw them cheering grandchildren on in whichever activity they were involved with.

Jennie is survived by her son Doug (Terry); daughter Lynda (Denis); her grandchildren Chris (Sandra), Michael (Trisha), Karen, Danielle (Kevin), Mandy (Shaun), Diane, Denis (Diana), Matthew (Brianna); as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Alex, Louis, Henri (Linda) Mourot, Dennis Mandzuk and sisters-in-law Henriette (Lionel) Ricard, Inez Mourot, Mary Ferchuk.

Jennie was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her son Harvey; her daughter-in-law Wendy; her granddaughter Nicole; her grandson Johnathon; and siblings Nick, Johnny, Joe, Bill, and Helen.

The Celebration of Life for Jennie will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023, at St. Michael’s Parish (1505 13 ST W, Prince Albert, SK) at 10:00 am. Internment will take place at a later date at the White Star Cemetery.

We would like to thank all the staff at Birchview Nursing Home for the caring, and family atmosphere they provided to her.
