Obituary of Leona Carol Davidson

Leona Carol Davidson passed away peacefully in her home in Prince Albert on February 10, 2023, at the age of 75 years with her all her family by her side. 

Mom was born in Prince Albert to Carl and Lena Bailey.  This is where she met Bruce Davidson and they married July 27, 1968.  They would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year.  Together they had 3 children, Dwayne, Lynne and Nelson. 

For 21 years Mom worked as a Caretaker for the Sask School Division, working in many schools over the years and making many life long friends that she truly treasured until the end. 

Mom’s pride and joy were her 12 grandchildren.  She loved to cook and bake for her family and looked forward to our family getting together for meals. She enjoyed planting her big garden every spring and took pride in her flower beds, as she always had an abundance of flowers growing every summer.  Mom also loved her 3 cats, Petey, Charlie and Harry. 

Mom is survived by her husband, Bruce; her son, Dwayne; her daughter, Lynne (Jay); her son, Nelson (Linda); her 12 grandchildren, Chase, Destin, Tenesha, Shayla, Tanner, Keyaira, Kaiden, Ashton, Haylee, Emma, Kortana, and Reese; her brothers, Gordon (Tim) and Gerald (Marlene) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

She is predeceased by her Dad, Carl Bailey on Jan 10, 1998; her Mom, Lena Bailey on Sept 8, 2019; her sister, Bonnie Dix on Dec 19, 2021; her cousin, Wendy Fallis on Nov 14, 2014; her niece, Eunice, on Jan 2, 2014; and her cousin, Eric Bailey on Dec 28, 2009.

Special thanks to making Mom’s wishes come true to Dr. Royeppen and his team from the MAID program and for being so compassionate to Mom and our family during her final days and helping her pass with dignity and peace and to Beau “Lac” Funeral Home for all their help planning Mom’s cremation.  As per Mom’s wishes, there will be no funeral.  In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Leona may be made to Saskatchewan Cancer Agency,  4545 Parliament Avenue, Suite 200, Regina, SK, S4W 0G3.
