When Monty was moved to Shellbrook, my brother, Kenny, was going to see him so I faxed a card to Kenny in Saskatoon to bring to Monty. This is what I wrote:
Dear Monty,
I am so heartbroken about your diagnosis... you, a clean-living, young person who generously helped others much of your time...just does not deserve this! I am praying for a miracle and for your comfort.

Many times over the years when I pulled on to my "oceanfront" property in Big River Monty was there to help with detaching the tow vehicle, positioning the motorhome, hooking up the water from Kenny's property, plugging in the power, and such. I referred to him, also, as my little brother. I will surely miss seeing him on the riding mower, washing his buildings down in September, working in his most luscious garden in town, visiting often...his kind and gentle and friendly demeanor.
