My heart and thoughts are with the entire Simon family and countless friends during this hard time. You've had the amazing privilege of having him closely in your lives and will undoubtedly miss him dearly. My most distinct memories of Steve stem from when I was very young age, running around the ball diamonds while my sisters played ball. There were two occasions I recall being in need and somehow Steve was there to help me: once being verbally harassed by some older girls (haha), and the second time was at the hands of a wild merry-go-round ride when I was incredibly upset with the loss of my hamburger and fries. When I think back to these occasions, and the presence of Steve to help me out and guide me back to safety, I have to wonder if he was actually standing back keeping an eye on me. I wonder how many other times he perhaps did that without me knowing... making sure I was ok. I'm sure it was more often than I knew.
