Olga Mihilewicz

Obituary of Olga Mihilewicz

Olga Mihilewicz, late of Prince Albert, SK, formerly of Cloverdale District, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in Prince Albert, SK.  Olga was born in Honeymoon, SK on July 12, 1931, to her proud parents, Mike and Mary Hrynenko.  She had two older siblings, Anne and Andrew, and two younger siblings, Mary and John.  In 1948 she met the love of her life, Edward, at a Cloverdale dance.  After a short engagement, they were married on November 20th of that same year.  They were blessed with three children, Ethel, Larry and Ron. Together they farmed side by side, sharing in their love of family and friends.  Olga enjoyed milking cows and raising chickens and livestock.  A few years after Edward’s passing, she moved to Apple Green in Prince Albert.  Just as Ed and Olga had cared for new community members at Cloverdale, new friends reached out and took special care of her at Apple Green.  She enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards and dice, making head cheese, cabbage rolls and perogies, and had a large rooster collection, including a rooster clock!  She was a very generous person and always had room for one more at the table, often offering to send home food with her guests.  Mom cherished all of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.  She will be remembered by those who knew and loved her.  May God bless her as we follow her example of generosity and kindness to others.

Olga will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Larry (Debbie) Mihilewicz, Ron (Sharon) Mihilewicz; her son-in-law, Gerald Chopyk; her grandchildren, Steven (Tracy Sterling) Chopyk, April (Greg) Holmen, Randy (Leanne), Ryan and Marcy Mihilewicz; her great-grandchildren, Easton Holmen, Mason, Kylee and Morgan Mihilewicz, Lane, Chase and Brook Mihilewicz and James Mihilewicz; her sister-in-law, Carol Beukert; her step-grandchildren, Danielle (Drew) Richardson, Jocelyne (Mick) Laverty, Benjamin (Lindsay Kiesman) Altrogge, Nathanael and David Altrogge; her step-great-grandchildren, Daniel and Eric Piche, Anora Couture and Galen Richardson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Mihilewicz; her daughter, Ethel Chopyk; her parents, Mike and Mary Hrynenko; her siblings, Anne (George) Nemish, Andrew (Pauline) Hrynenko, Marie (Bill) Parasuik and John (Elaine) Hrynenko; her parents-in-law, Jozef and Julia Mihilewicz; her daughter-in-law, Donna Mihilewicz; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Louis Mihilewicz, Tony Mihilewicz, Frank (Mary) Mihilewicz, and Jean (John) Buchynski.
