Obituary of Anne-Marie Bernadette Cyr

Anne-Marie Cyr (May 24, 1942 - May 13, 2023)

Anne-Marie Cyr, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated member of the Debden community, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2023, after a brief illness. She was just shy of her 81st birthday. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, May 19th, at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Debden, Saskatchewan.

Born on May 24, 1942, in Bellevue, Anne-Marie later moved to Debden in 1963 to embark on her career as a teacher. She spent an incredible 60 years residing in Debden, making it her cherished home. Anne-Marie's impact as an educator extended beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting impression on countless students throughout her years of service.

Anne-Marie leaves behind her loving husband of almost 59 years, Louis Cyr, who will dearly miss her presence. Together, they built a life filled with love, shared memories, and unwavering devotion. Anne-Marie's legacy lives on through her children: Marie-Anne (Joe Schweitzer), Bernard (Nadja DeKlerk), Marcel (Murielle Verrier), Susanne (Lee Gustafson), Lucille (Clif Amundson), and Robert. Her passing leaves a void in their lives that can never be filled.

Her twelve grandchildren, Jenna Schweitzer, Jodi Schweitzer (Steve Borman), Luc Cyr, Ben Cyr, Stephane Cyr, Raymond Cyr, Janelle Cyr, Eric Gustafson, Chloe Gustafson, Tavis Amundson, Robyn Amundson, and Ty Amundson, were a source of immense joy and pride for Anne-Marie. She shared countless precious moments with each of them, leaving a lasting imprint on their lives.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all the caregivers who provided unwavering support during Anne-Marie's brief illness. Their kindness, compassion, and dedication brought comfort to both Anne-Marie and her family during a challenging time.

In honor of Anne-Marie's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Debden Heritage Manor. These contributions will help support the functioning of the Manor, reflecting Anne-Marie's deep appreciation for the town she called home.

Anne-Marie Cyr's unwavering love, kindness, and dedication to her family, friends, and community will be remembered and cherished by all who were fortunate to have known her. She will forever be missed and never forgotten. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

There will be a Memorial Mass for Anne-Marie held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church in Debden with Father Nick Ferreras as Celebrant. Anne-Marie will be laid to rest in the Debden Cemetery following the service.
