It is with heavy hearts the family of Cheryl Lynn Nemish announce her passing on June 30th, 2023 at the age of 46.  Cheryl passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends.  She leaves behind to mourn husband Gary Nemish, son Steven (Kellie), son Keegan, and daughter Karissa.  She is survived by her mother Jeanne Tait, step mother Jan Wilkinson, brother Shane (Terra) Wilkinson, sister-in-law Nicole Wilkinson , brother Joey (Evelyn) Wilkinson, grandmother Mary Wilkinson, brother-in-law Terry (Joanne) Nemish, sister-in-law Sue (Daryl) Foreman, sister-in-law Joan Brown, brother-in-law Mike (Jeannie) Nemish, as well as numerous uncles, aunties, cousins, nieces, nephews and honorary family to numerous to mention.  She was predeceased by her father Brian Wilkinson, step father Jerry Tait, and mother and father-in-law John & Pauline Nemish and brother-in-law Orville Brown.

Cheryl was born June 8, 1977 to late Brian Wilkinson and Jeanne Tait. In her early years she enjoyed riding motorbikes with her brothers and cousins in Lily Plain, SK as well as visiting her Memere and cousins in Duck Lake, SK any chance she had.  When she was young she waddled when she walked earning her the nickname “ducky”.  Cheryl met Gary Nemish in 1994 and were inseparable from day one. They began their lives of having kids, getting married and starting businesses together so they would never have to be apart.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and supporting them in any activity or dream they wanted to pursue, from Ukrainian dancing, guitar lessons, 4H and horse shows.  When at work, she enjoyed spending time getting to know her customers and considered most of them more as friends and family. Cheryl very much enjoyed where she lived but also enjoyed travelling whenever she could.

Cheryl was diagnosed with a rare form of stomach cancer in 2020 and surpassed many expectations. Thanks to the help of her cousin Sandra (Russell) Misponas and the palliative home care team, she was able to spend most of her journey in the comfort of her own home. Cheryl will forever be remembered by her thoughtfulness, courage, humour, and most of all her kind heart.

A Private Family Graveside service will be held.  A “Come and Go” Celebration of Cheryl’s Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the home of Gary and Cheryl.  Please feel free to bring a lawn chair.  There will be signage posted as you arrive at MacDowall, SK.
