Obituary of Tony Kosowan

Tony was born in Prince Albert, SK on Oct. 22, 1957, and passed away unexpectedly in Weirdale, SK on July 13, 2023, at the young age of 65 years.

He completed high school in Choiceland, SK, in 1975 and worked on the family farm and family sawmill at Garrick, Sask until he moved to Alberta and worked in the oil fields.  In 1986 he started on his Journeyman Millwright Career which he enjoyed and was very successful at, working in BC, Alberta, Sask. and Manitoba.  He retired from his career in 2020 and worked at various jobs until his passing.

 Tony respected his Greek Orthodox Church upbringing and devoted time to maintaining the Weirdale and Samburg Churches and grounds. He was also an active member of the Vesalka Club and volunteered whenever he could.  Tony had a very big heart and was generous in helping others throughout his life. He especially helped his mother a lot when she lived in her own home.

He will be greatly missed by his mother, Vera Stratychuk (Kosowan); son, Lee (Lacey) and their daughter, Nessa; partner, Jovanka; siblings, Greg Kosowan, Morris (Kathy) Kosowan, Terry (Marg Byers) Kosowan, Steve Kosowan, Chris Thomas (Joe Brugos), Tally (Doug) Spooner; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friendsTony was predeceased by his father, Andy Kosowan; step-father, Philip Stratychuk; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Kosowan.
