Florence Joanette

Obituary of Florence Estelle Joanette

Florence Estelle Joanette

It is with the greatest appreciation for a long life that we announce her passing at Wheatland Lodge in Leask with family at her side.

Florence grew up in the Woodhill District near Iroquois Lake. She had one older brother and five younger sisters. They were a close-knit family and loved celebrating many special occasions over the years.

She was a very hard-working farmwife for 75 years. She ran a large household, raised her three children, cared for her mother, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law, milked cows, fed pigs, and tended her chickens,  turkeys, and geese. She also had a very large garden every year and preserved more than enough food to last every year.

Florence was loved by everyone for her kind, gentle demeanor, no one ever had an unkind word to say about her.

She married Leo Joanette in 1946. They lived on the Joanette family farm all their lives. They celebrated 75 years of marriage before Leo passed away in March of 2022.
