Eric Tkachuk

Obituary of Eric Mark Tkachuk

Loving husband and father, friend, and President/CEO of the “We Say So” Corporation, Eric Mark Tkachuk lost his battle to cancer on August 11th, 2023, passing away peacefully at home. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Bernice (aka Bunny) and survived by his three children, Connor (Ashley), Morgan (Roger), Logan; Eric’s wife, Luanne; his step-son Andrew; his brother Edward (Monica); his grandchildren, Emily and Dominic; and his self-proclaimed adopted daughter, Lillanohna Naytowhow.

Eric was born on January 6th, 1963 in Calgary, Alberta. Growing up he was a bit of a swiss-army knife, finding his passions in skateboarding, ski instruction, and singing/dancing professionally with the Calgary Stampede.

In his later years, Eric went on to manage several retail outfits across Alberta/Saskatchewan. These outfits included Bata, Hudson’s Bay, and most recently Value Village, where Eric was able to prioritize his passion for green energy through the resale and recycling of previously owned clothing.

While working for these companies, Eric would often play redneck on the weekends, exercising his other interest of building cabins with his lifelong friends Steve and Grant out at Whitefish Lake, where he’d occasionally be able to trick his other lifelong friends, Francis, or Cheryl into coming for a visit.

Of all of his passions though, Eric took the most pride in his love for life, and above all, the love he had for his friends and family; always making certain that everyone around him felt welcomed and well taken care of. And even as the needs from his disease process grew, that unabating love never wavered.

We all miss him so much.

Per Eric’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held next summer at Whitefish Lake, AB. Friends and family will be contacted closer to the date with details.

In lieu of flowers, please have a beer to honour Eric. He’d want that more than anything.
