Obituary of Jerry Glenn Anderson

Jerry Glenn Anderson

Jerry passed away on October 2, 2023, at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert at age 62. He was born July 8, 1961, in Prince Albert to proud parents Ruth and Glenn Anderson. Jerry lived his younger years on the family farm in Mayview.  He then moved to Prince Albert when his parents moved to Whelan Bay, Whiteswan Lake where they owned and operated the fishing lodge. This is where Jerry discovered his love of fishing and the great outdoors. He attended school in Prince Albert. At age 16 he met the love of his life Sherry Read. While they were dating, he started his apprenticeship as an electrician, which would then become his lifelong career. They moved to Saskatoon, where after marrying on April 26, 1986, they started a family. They have 3 beautiful children: Jarrett, Tanner and Kristyn. After 11 years in Saskatoon, the desire to be closer to family (and a shorter drive to the lake!) solidified the decision to move back to Prince Albert.

Jerry built a beautiful home on an acreage just outside the city where he spent the remainder of his life, always improving their yard and their house (and relaxing in his beloved garage). He worked shift work as an electrician and loved the weeks he had off to go fishing, camping, golfing, traveling, or starting new projects at home. His later years saw his appreciation of travel take him to numerous hot countries for some fun in the sun in Mexico (his favorite vacation was with all the kids), Belize, Roatan, and Arizona. When he was home, you could always find him in his garage, ready for any friend or family member to pop over for a beer and some good music on the radio.

In the last few years, Jerry became a proud grandfather to 2 beautiful granddaughters, Addison and Sophia, whom he loved dearly. Family was always the most important thing to him.

Jerry has left many of us to cherish great memories and quite a few laughs. He is survived by his wife Sherry and his children Jarrett (Eryn), Tanner (Sonya, granddaughters Addison and Sophia) and Kristyn Ens. Jerry’s mother, Ruth Coles;  his 4 sisters, Sharon Anderson, Sandi Carigan (Clint), Gail Walcer (Kerry), and Tracey Dixon (Delano).

Jerry had many sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many close friends that he loved fiercely.

Jerry was predeceased by his father, Glenn; step father, Leslie Coles; nephew, Killian Walcer; brother-in-law, John Read; and good friend Warren Pidskalny.
