Louis will be forever & lovingly remembered by: his wife Laurna of Debden, SK; his sons Donald (Shelley) Parent of Saskatoon, SK; Randy (Gwen) Parent of Winnipegosis, MB; Claude (Vicki) Parent of North Battleford, SK; his daughter Joanne (Brian Tremblay) of Shellbrook, SK; his grandchildren Hunter, Paxton, Jayden, Colton, and Celeste; his sister Eveline Huot of Victoria, B.C.; his brothers Paul (Jane) Parent of Surrey, B.C.; Phil Parent of Dinsbury, AB; Ron (Dallas) of Vancouver, B.C.; his brothers in-law Urbain (Helen) Paul of Tompkins, SK; Bruno Demers of Debden, SK. Louis was predeceased by his parents Wilfred & Marie Parent; his brothers Robert, Bernard, Albert, and Leon Parent; his sisters Solange Reid, Lucille Demers and Diane Parent; his father & mother-in law Ray & Rose Paul; his brothers in-law Willie Paul & Toby Huot. Three words can summarize Louis' life, family, farming, and John Deere. First and foremost came his family. If we needed something, we always got it. If we wanted something, well...we waited. Then came farming which he did with a passion. He had sought employment in B.C. in the late 50's and early 60's, that did not go over very well. He came back and took over the family farm. Ever since, only the Good Lord could take him away from the land. After seeding in the spring, he would have this sense of accomplishment that he did the most important job in the world. In the fall after harvest, he would say, "I wonder how many people that will feed?" In the summer he loved to go camping, but we think that he turned around many times to see if his cows were following. In the early years he was an avid curler. Louis grew up in the Mattes area, he joked about going to Winslow Lake School and completing half of his grade 12, we later found out that it was grade 6. For us his family, he is not altogether gone. He left behind his work ethics, his sense of humor (which we all inherited) and most of all his love for his family. Memorial donations can be sent to Mont St.Joseph Care Home Inc (777 28th St E Prince Albert, SK S6V 8C2).
