Obituary of Darlene Ann Ferguson
Darlene Ann Ferguson
With great sorrow we announce the passing of Darlene Ann Ferguson at the age of 72. Darlene was born on January 10, 1951, and passed away on November 6, 2023.
She married Bryan Robert Ferguson on October 17, 1970, and together they had two sons, Doug and Brad.
Darlene was a very creative person. She was a skilled seamstress who loved sewing. She donated much of her time in service to people in need including sewing Trauma Bears for the ambulance and hundreds of Angel dresses. She was sewing for schools (she made a full set of girl's basketball uniforms), hockey teams, and made most of the local Lions vests.
She was multi-talented; she was skilled in ceramics. She made cookbooks, banners, posters, centre pieces, clothing, many Christmas lawn ornaments. Darlene helped with and organized many local events, loving every minute of it. She really loved people!
As well, Darlene loved collecting Unicorns and salt and pepper shakers. She loved being with people, especially her sons, grandsons, and great grandson. She loved being at the lake, sun tanning on the dock at Candle Lake and camping with her family.
Darlene loved being 'a part of', a part of the family, a part of the community. However, many years
with Crohn's and the effects of slowly took that away from her. She tried to fight (she was quite stubborn that way) but succumbed to complications from a recent surgery.
Darlene is lovingly survived by her husband, Bryan; her son Doug of North Battleford and his children, Noah and Dylan (Jayde), great grandson Abel; and her son Brad (Sabrina) of North Battleford and their son Nick.
Darlene was predeceased by her parents, Peder and Lois Hoiland; her sister, Janice Fonos, and her brother-in-law Geoff Hyslop.
A Come & Go Tea will be held Sunday May 19, 2024 - 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Spiritwood Civic Centre.
In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be made in memory of Darlene to Lions Foundation of Canada Dogguides (www.dogguides.com), as for many years this was one of Lion Darlene's pet projects and passions.
