Obituary of Ronald John Sarabin
* PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF SERVICE VENUE *
Ronald “Ron” Sarabin passed away peacefully in Prince Albert with family by his side on November 9, 2023, at the age of 80. Ron was loved by his family and will be dearly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ron was born in the Honeymoon District and moved with his parents to the Whitfield area when he was a young boy. He met the love of his life Vicky and they were married in 1969. They continued to live and farm in the Whitfield area raising their four children in the home Ron built for his family to live and grow in.
Ron could build and fix anything. He built a tractor from recycled parts which he used to rototill his garden that he loved to work in, which always had sunflowers planted in it. He was very resourceful on the farm and would build whatever he needed to get the job done, from farm equipment, to his own walking stick to patching his own jeans.
Ron worked on the farm his whole life, from early childhood to his retirement. Ron was happy and proud to pass the farm on to his son John, but he would still help out when needed.
Even though the farm took a lot of his time, Ron enjoyed ice-fishing, curling and going for long drives on the country roads. He really enjoyed the large family gatherings on holidays and other special times. He especially enjoyed cake and having all the grandkids around on his birthday.
Dad, Grandpa, will always be in our hearts and memories.
Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife, Vicky; his daughter, Cindy (Gary) Soles and children, Amber, Brandi (Scott) and children, Paisley, Brady, Avery, and Sydney; his son, John (Erin) Sarabin and children, Emma, John, Jacob, and Elizabeth; his daughter, Kelly (Steve) Franklin and children, Rhett and Sean; his daughter, Mandy (Marc) Utley and children, Cole and T.J.; his siblings, Patricia (Ron) Coombs and Helen (Rick) Kindrachuk; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Ron is predeceased by his son in infancy, Paul Sarabin; his grandson, Ty Utley; and his parents, John and Mary Sarabin (nee) Soloway.
A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Calvary United Church, 114 25 St E, Prince Albert, SK.
