Larry Korolischuk

Obituary of Larry Steven Korolischuk

Larry Korolischuk left us suddenly on November 18 at the age of 72. Larry was born on April 22, 1952, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He graduated from Meath Park High School in 1969. He entered the work force and worked mainly at Camp 6, supplying pulp wood for the Prince Albert Pulp Mill. Later, he worked for Zelensky Brothers Sawmill near LaRonge, SK. Larry enjoyed working with heavy equipment and later worked for the Village of Candle Lake.

Larry had close friends from the work camps, and they would enjoy the hunting season.

Larry was not an international traveler but, after some coaxing he did decide to visit his brother in Japan. He was the small-town northern visitor to the modern metropolis that had cultural norms.

Later, he joined a tour group to visit Egypt and Jordan. His highlight tour in 2012, was Ukraine. Larry and his brother Bryan were joined in Kiev by their brother Bob. They travelled by rented car from Kiev, for ten hours, to the western border and Kolomaya near the home village of their great grandparents and grandparents. Larry and Bryan also had time to travel to Crimea. He documented his tours with countless digital photos. Larry coached minor hockey, but his passion was playing softball and later coaching minor girls’ softball in the Meath Park area and Prince Albert. He enjoyed “coffee row” in Candle Lake, Meath Park and Prince Albert and had countless friends and acquaintances. Larry was unselfish with his time and will be missed by family and friends……. AT PEACE, REST WELL.

Larry is lovingly remembered by his mother, Victoria Korolischuk (nee Symtaniuk); brothers, Bob and Bryan Korolischuk; nephew, Sasha (Hannah); and numerous other relatives and acquaintances. Larry was predeceased by his father, Steve Korolischuk; great grandparents, Filip and Anna Korleszczuk (nee Silizeenka); grandparents, Paul and Lena Korolischuk (nee Yaduk), Nick and Domka Smytaniuk (nee Boyko).
