Obituary of Lawrence William Piche

With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our brother Lawrence William Piché on Sunday, December 17th 2023, at the age of 85. He passed at the Fairview Nursing Home in  Brandon, Manitoba. Lawrence was born on December 5th, 1938 in the D’amour area to Fred and Zilda Piché.  The family moved from Leoville to Prince Albert in 1954.

Lawrence was a very kind and gentle man who was always ready to help anyone. He loved children and enjoyed teasing his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed fishing an hunting. Lawrence worked for the PFRA in his younger years, and then at Domtar and Burns. When Burns closed he worked for McDonald’s Consolidated until he had to take early retirement due to health problems.

He was blessed while in Fairview Nursing Home in Manitoba, to have visits from his nephew Jim Stevenson and brother-in-law John Katona who always brought his favourite burger along with a strawberry sundae.  His niece Brenda Bullion would visit and  take him to Mass. She would bring him whatever food he requested. Lawrence is survived by his three daughters, Carmelle, Lorelle,  Nicole and their families; his brother, Emile Piché; his sisters, Rita (John) Stevenson, Doris (Denis) Brisebois, Yvonne (Bernie) Gyoerick; his Godchildren, Janet Samuel, Kent Stevenson, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.  Lawrence was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Zilda Piché; his brother, Alcide in infancy; brother-in-law, John Vandale and his sister-in-law, Blanche Piché.

There will be a Funeral Mass held for Lawrence on Friday, April 26th, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the St. Michael Parish, Prince Albert, SK.
