Obituary of Pauline Ogrodnick
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Pauline Ogrodnick. Mom was born on November 24, 1927, in Vonda, SK, and passed away at the Rose Garden Hospice on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Mom came to Prince Albert after she married Dad on October 3, 1948. They bought their first home in Midtown area and were members of the newly built St. Mark Church. Mom loved to garden, sew, knit and was the best baker in the neighborhood. She took great joy in passing on all of her cooking, gardening, and canning tips to her children and grandchildren. There is nothing that mom loved more than family gatherings surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She finally moved out of her midtown home after 71 years and into River Breeze Retirement Complex in March 2022. She was hospitalized in December 2023 and moved to Rose Garden Hospice where she passed.
Mom is survived by her eight children, Albert (Marg) Ogrodnick, Bernie (Carol) Ogrodnick, Louis (Debbie) Ogrodnick, Joanne (Murray) Guy, Diane (Abel) Gaudet, Beverly (Mike) Rooney, Dennis, Brenda (Greg) Slingerland; 18 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Burtney; brother, Harry Maruschuk; sisters-in-law, Virginia Maruschuk; and Alice Hutnik and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Alex, and Barbara Maruschak (Shutiak); her husband, Joseph Ogrodnick (1992); her brothers, Mike, Bill, Tony, Nick, and Andy; her sister, Anne; sisters-in-law, Olga, Sally, Loyola, Bev; brothers-in-law, Bill, Tony, Joseph, and Frank; numerous nieces and nephews.
