Obituary of Marvin Clifford Knutson

Marvin Clifford Knutson passed away peacefully on May 31, 2010 at the age of 86 years. He will be sadly missed by his sister Mabel (Robert) Lalonde of Kamloops, BC. His brothers Elvin Knutson of Spiritwood, SK and Arnold (Dorothy) Knutson of Salmon Arm, BC. His sister in law Barbara Knutson of Spiritwood, SK. Numerous nieces, nephews & friends. Marvin was predeceased by his parents Ingeman and Annie Knutson. An infant sister Irene Knutson and an infant brother Knute Knutson. His brothers Joseph Knutson and Knute Knutson (Audrey). A sister in law Betty Knutson. Marvin was born on July 9, 1923, he lived the first six years of his life on his parents homestead at Ordale, Saskatchewan. He then moved with his parents to Mildred where they started a new life on a new homestead. He attended Wild Bear School and there he received all of his education. After Marvin quit school he worked in many different places and many different bush camps, Carrot River, Island Lake, Canoe Lake and Ontario. During the summer he worked at his farm north west of Mildred and helped his brothers on their farms. He also worked many falls on threshing crews. He had several health issues and in September 2008 Marvin became a resident at the nursing home in Spiritwood. Marvin enjoyed traveling. He would travel by bus or train to visit family and friends, he also enjoyed traveling with his friends, to rodeos and exhibitions in the surrounding districts. Marvin was also an avid reader and enjoyed watching television. Marvin was very hospitable and enjoyed having friends and family over for a visit. The coffee pot was always on for those who came. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The funeral service was held on Monday June 7, 2010 from the Lakeland Community Church in Spiritwood with Pastor Jerry Zak officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Marvin's memory may be made to the Diabetic Association. Marvin was laid to rest in Mildred North Cemetery. Delores Beaulac was entrusted with funeral arrangements.
