Caylah Casavant

Obituary of Caylah Jean Rosel Casavant

It is with very heavy hearts and much sadness, the family of Caylah Jean Rosel Casavant (nee Hoffman), announce her sudden and unexpected passing on March 24, 2024, at the age of 39.  She is survived by her children, Lillian and Emma; their father, Kyle Casavant; her mom and dad, Cathy and George Hoffman; her brothers, Zachary (Blaire), Kohle (Kristy and daughter Georgia) and Keaghan; Bob (Cartier) and family, Grandma Rose (Cartier), Megan, Graham, Olivia and Jack (Beddome); as well as numerous family, friends, and all who knew her. She was predeceased by Grandma Maria (Hoffman), and Grandma Jean and Grandpa Metro (Abramyk), who have undoubtedly welcomed Caylah into the afterlife with open and loving arms.

Caylah was born to Cathy Hoffman (nee Abramyk) on March 1, 1985, in Prince Albert, SK. Caylah and her mom lived with Grandma Jean and Grandpa Metro until George lovingly entered their lives.  Cathy, George and Caylah then moved to a farm in Mistatim, SK, and shortly after welcomed another three children – Zachary, Kohle and Keaghan in Prince Albert, SK. Caylah’s childhood was filled with many days spent at Emma Lake and sleepovers with her cousins, chasing after her brothers, and playing volleyball. She was always surrounded by friends, as people were naturally drawn to her kind and welcoming demeanor.

After high school, Caylah attended business school, became a hairdresser, and completed her nursing degree.  She spent her nursing career working in mental health and addictions with the Saskatchewan Health Authority.  Caylah, along with her business partner and lifelong friend, Megan, purchased Summer Delight in 2010 and operated it for 14 years.

Caylah married Kyle Casavant in 2009, and they were blessed with the two most amazing girls – Lillian (2014) and Emma (2016).  Anyone that knew Caylah knew her daughters were absolutely everything to her.  Caylah raised the girls to be kind, compassionate, independent, and resilient young women who can do anything they put their minds to; skills they will need to navigate the days, weeks, months, and years to come.

Caylah was the most loving, kind-hearted, loyal, hardworking, intelligent, and amazing human being.  She was passionate about helping people and would go to great lengths to ensure others were taken care of a quality that made her exceptional at everything she did.  Throughout her nursing career, Caylah worked from front line to her most recent role of Manager of Community and Outreach Services, a position she worked so hard to attain.  She believed in the work she did, and the importance of quality healthcare. The many efforts she put in throughout her nursing career were extended in her final moments, where she received only the best care from the health teams that tried to save her life.  We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit in Prince Albert, as well as the Intensive Care Unit at Regina General Hospital, where she took her last breath.  They fought just as hard as she/we did to keep her here, and we could not be more grateful for the collective efforts and compassion they showed.

Caylah – you left a beautiful imprint on all of the lives you touched. You are respected and loved beyond measure, and we will never forget you and all the good you put into this world.  We know Heaven has gained another angel, because you exemplified this every single day on earth.

We miss you, Caylah.
