Obituary of Helen Angelique Waditaka
It is with great sadness that the Waditaka Family announces the passing of Helen Angelique Waditaka. Helen was born on November 24, 1941, she was 82 years old. She started her journey to the spirit world on April 24, 2024 surrounded by her large family. She was the daughter of the late Cyrille Notomagan and Cecil Charles. She lost her husband who was the love of her life. She was a proud widow of the late Archie Waditaka who was a WWII Veteran.
Helen was a traditional dancer who travelled the pow wow trail for many years with the Campbell family. Helen liked to stay busy, she was an elder on many various boards and committees. Helen volunteered at the Food Bank for many years. Helen lived at Mak Lodge for the past four years. She had two close friends Rose and Alice. They were known as the Golden Girls at Mak Lodge.
Unfortunately, Helen got sick and spent the last two months in care at the Victoria Hospital. She was moved for comfort care to the Rose Garden Hospice on Monday April 22, 2024. The Waditaka family would like to extend gratitude and thank the friends and staff for their support and care provided to our loved one. Helen will be deeply missed by her family. The Waditaka family thanks the many friends and family for the kind words of comfort and the support received.
Wake will commence at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, April 26, 2024. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 both services will be held at Wahpeton First Nation Band Hall, Wahpeton, SK.
