Obituary of Robert Jameson Gillingham
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert Jameson Gillingham, born January 24th, 1988. Rob passed away on May 4th, 2024 and is survived by his parents, Grant and Ruth Gillingham and his sibling, Emerald Gillingham as well as many special friends that have become family over the years.
Robert is predeceased by James and Jean Gillingham (paternal grandparents); Robert and Ada Wyllie (maternal grandparents).
Rob was like a jack of all trades, trying his hand in many industries, professions, and hobbies during his life. Cooking, bartending, working with at-risk youth to mentor and educate. Before going back to school for industrial mechanics and finding joy and fulfilment in that field. Rob’s career was unfortunately cut short due to an accident that left him disabled but full of love and compassion for his close friends and family. Rob took joy in spending his days with his family and pets, finding pleasure in the simple things in life and helping those he cared for however he could.
Rob had a big heart and a blunt attitude, and you always knew where you stood with him. If you were lucky enough to know Rob, you knew his caring but direct demeanour. Rob’s life will be celebrated by his close friends and family in a private family service. If you wish to send condolences or gifts, we ask that you direct them to the SPCA Box 1832 Prince Albert, SK S6V 6J9 as Rob loved animals dearly and had always dreamed of opening a rescue. Rob would love to know that you helped animals in need in his honour.
