Obituary of Bradley Kent Thiessen

Bradley Kent Thiessen

October 15, 1961 – June 12, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we say “see you later” to Brad.  Brad passed away peacefully at Mont St Joseph Home in Prince Albert, SK on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis, at the age of 62.  Brad was born on October 15, 1961, in Saskatoon, SK, to John and Eileen Thiessen, the second of four children, two brothers, Travis and Warren and sister, Lorelei.

The family lived and worked in Saskatoon until 1975 when they decided to embark on a new adventure. They packed up and moved to Dodsland, SK and bought a farm.  Little did they know this way of life would quickly become their passion. This community is where Brad made many lifelong friends. It was with these same friends that he spent his earlier years drinking beer and getting into “good” trouble. In 1982, the family decided it was time to expand their family farming practice so they packed up and moved to Big River, SK, which Brad would call home. In 1987, Brad married Rhonda and they had two children, Jordan and Rachel. Brad, alongside his father, John, continued to farm until John's unexpected death in 2000.  Brad also tried to spend as much time as he could fishing and hunting and of course, spending time with family.  He continued to farm and work at the lumber mill until his Multiple Sclerosis no longer allowed him the freedom to work and enjoy his hobbies.

Brad leaves behind to forever cherish his memory, his wife Rhonda; his son, Jordan (Alerose); his daughter, Rachel (Tegan); his beloved grandson, Holden; his mother, Eileen; and his siblings. Brad was predeceased by his father, John, in 2000.

In keeping with Brad’s wishes, he will be laid to rest with his father, John, in Big River at a private family graveside service to be held at a later date.

Love you much Grandpa Brad. Rest in peace now. We love you.
