Obituary of Karen Isobel Dean

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Karen Elizabeth Isobel Dean announce her sudden passing on Monday, July 5, 2010 at the age of 42 years. The Service of Remembrance took place on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkside. Rev. Rick Lane was the officiant. Interment took place in the Parkside Cemetery. Memorial Donations in memory of Karen may be made to the Kinsmen Telemiricle Foundation (2217C Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK S7L 6A8). Karen Dean was Born in Moncton, New Brunswick on January 18th, 1968. She attended school in Lucky Lake and Kamsack, graduating in 1986. She was active in band, debating, and air cadets. After a single year at the University of Saskatchewan, she attended secretarial school, later getting a position with Early Mailing in Saskatoon. She was active member of Louse Avenue Church, teaching sunday school, and later becoming the sunday school superintendent. Karen loved art and craft, and was skilled in knitting and crochet. She had a very important and special relationship with all four of her nieces and nephews. Though her last years were a personal challenge, she maintained a positive outlook on life and reached out to many, acting as a channel op in the abuse survivors chat room on MIRC. She will be missed by family and friends.
