Neil was born and raised in the Meeting Lake area. He left the farm to travel across Saskatchewan building elevators for a number of years. He just recently said "He could still build them in his sleep". He then returned to the farm to follow his passion and raise cattle. Later he started plowing and disking pastures for the PFRA, doing this off and on again for about 25 years. Neil was a councilor for the RM of Meeting Lake for 10 years. No matter where Neil was or what he was doing, family was the most important part of his life. He would almost never miss family get togethers, whether it was an anniversary, birthday, weddings, or just a day with the family. He always had time to stop for a coffee and shoot the breeze ! He always enjoyed a game of cards, X&O's, or a board game with the grandchildren. Neil really enjoyed his family. Last year Neil and Vivien celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary, with all their family, friends and neighbors at the Rabbit Lake Community Hall. He enjoyed this very much, as did everyone else. A memorial service was held July 28th, 2010 at the Rabbit Lake community Hall. Interment took place in the Mullingar Cemetery.
