Obituary of Denise Marie Rapin
Denise (85) left her earthly journey peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in Prince Albert, SK, surrounded by her greatest treasures, her family.
She was born in White Star, SK, on June 10, 1939, and married George Rapin in 1959. Together, they farmed in the Albertville and White Star areas while raising their family. Once retired, they moved to Candle Lake, SK, then on to Osoyoos and Kelowna, BC, and finally, back to Prince Albert, SK, where they lived for the past 5 years. Many winters were spent trailering in Arizona.
When Denise and George weren’t cheering on their kids or grandkids with sports, they could be found entertaining at the lake or dancing it up with their senior club friends in BC. She will be remembered fondly for baking famous Christmas tourtiere, crispy gingersnaps, superb sour cream cake, and soul-satisfying matrimonial cake.
Denise’s strong love of her family brought her the most joy in life. She was exceptionally proud of her 4 boys, her 4 daughters-in-law, her 11 grandchildren, and her 7 great grandchildren. She was known for her deep commitment to the Catholic faith, her marriage, and her family.
Denise will be affectionately remembered by her loving husband of 65 years, George; her 4 boys and their families, Lyle (Dawnalee) and their family, Joey and children, Joey Jr., Justin, and Olivia; and Dawn Lacoste and children, Wyatt, Morgan, Liam, and Lincoln; Phil (Noreen) and their family, Spencer (Marina), Andrew (Julie), and Nicole; Richard (Meta) and their family, Jake (Carly), Marc, Matthew, and Cate; Edward (Christine) and their family, Keanna (Braydon), and Chloe (Dylan); her younger siblings, Fran Belliveau, Audrey Zwack, Susan (Harold) Potter, Leon (Sandra) Erdman; her sister in-law, Judy Erdman; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leonard and Yvonne (née Rapin) Nakonechny; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended Rapin family members.
Denise is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Valentine (née Falhun) Erdman; brother, Louis Erdman; and nieces, Nicole Nakonechny and Denae (née Nakonechny) Lawrence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday August 8, 2024, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401- 4 Ave W, Prince Albert, SK. Refreshments and fellowship will follow. Interment will follow in White Star Cemetery, White Star, SK.
